Master the Art of Creating LinkedIn Backgrounds

Your LinkedIn background is major real estate.  More than ever, we are a visual society. Right now, LinkedIn Premium members have the ability to choose a background image provided by LinkedIn or uploading a background of their own, and freebie members only have the option of uploading a background of their own.

What an incredible way to visually engage any professional that views your profile.  And what an incredible addition to the already available addition of integrating multi-media and your very own blogging platform!  The LinkedIn profile has quickly become a digital personal branding platform.

Enough gushing… back to the background images.

There are new tools coming out regularly to help you with your background image.  These are 3 of my favorites:

  • is the first LinkedIn Background website.   Categories include Abstract, Nature, Urban, Business, and Corporate.  Simply choose the background, save it, then upload it!
  • allows you to edit, touch-up, design, and even make your own collage.  Just set the dimensions to 1400 X 425 pixels then choose images that represent your company or personal brand.
  • provides hundreds of free photo filters, frames, photo collages and effects for your photos.

The proper size is 1400 X 425 pixels; however only 1040 X 110 pixels is visible.  Go to the summary section of my profile for a template of visibility.

Let me know what you think of these helpful tools.

  • Be the first to give to your new business relationships
  • Always pay it forward
  • Network with purpose.

Good luck and good networking! Remember… It’s All About Leverage.
