How do I know if my posts are resonating with my audience?

There are more than 360 million profiles on LinkedIn.  And this month LinkedIn released a new and easier way for us to see who is reading and engaging. These analytics will help us determine if we are reaching the right audience, and if we are compelling enough for the right audience to engage.

To see if you’ve got access to your analytics yet, click here.

This is what you can expect:

First, you have the ability to look at any of your posts with data going back as far as 1 year, hover over any day to get the daily figure, and see which posts resonate for the longest time period.

Next, scroll down the page to see the demographics of your readers.  This will verify if your content is reaching your target.

This is calculated based on available member profile information. Traffic sources include non-member views. –LinkedIn

Interesting fact: You will only see the demographics of logged in LinkedIn members so it does not capture everyone. 

Finally, scroll down to see the engagement.  You will be able to see who has liked, commented, and/or shared your content.  You will also be able to see who you are already connected to right on this page, send messaging from this page, and view profiles right from this page.

Why does this matter?

Engagement.  You now have the ability to reach out to the professionals in your network and beyond, determine whether your content is reaching your target audience, see where the traffic is being driven from, and determine behavior patterns.
