[VIDEO] What is your LinkedIn URL?

Your LinkedIn URL is your digital LinkedIn address.  This is the first impression often times.  The goal is to direct interested parties to your LinkedIn Profile.  This is an excellent channel to open a dialogue.  Your Profile is often times your first impression, so be sure that your Profile is optimized!

Your LinkedIn URL should simply be your name – that is the easiest to remember and also the most recognizable by your network.  For example, my LinkedIn URL is www.linkedin.com/in/bobbiefoedisch.  For those of you whose name is already in use, LinkedIn will provide alternate options, or you can customize based on another aspect such as title or industry.  For example, I could have used www.linkedin.com/in/bobbiefoedischaal, including my company’s initials at the end of the link.

Once you personalize your URL, you should put it everywhere.  Definitely market yourself, drive interested parties to your LinkedIn profile, then leverage LinkedIn metrics to open the dialogue with the professionals it makes sense to open a dialogue with based on your target.

  • Business Cards (A MUST!)
  • Marketing Material
  • Website
  • Other Social Profiles
  • Presentations
  • Email Signature

Check LinkedIn’s “Who’s Viewed Your Profile” regularly.  The professionals viewing your profile know who you are and are knocking on your LinkedIn door.  Open the door!
